I've always considered the word an American colloquialism (although increasingly I'm hearing non-Americans using it in New Zealand, where I live), and I've also always hated it! However, it is a word that people use. I think it good that the definition says the word is informal and discourages using it in formal contexts. Perhaps it should also mention that it is only an American word? Markdarb 20:56, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
