ALWAYS wanted to know what the correct spelling and intepretation was for the difference between ANALYSIST AND ANALYST. IT appears to be that Analyst is the more modern version of the same thing. so in fact both are still correct and refer to someone who analyses data to form an interpretation, assessment or opinion.
- That's what the entry says: an archaic form is an outdated one. Unfortunately we don't have any citations yet. Equinox ◑ 05:26, 25 October 2015 (UTC)
- Doing a Google Books search: this also seems to be a very common contemporary error for analyst by non-native speakers of English. But I created the entry as "archaic" for a reason; very possibly I found it in the old Webster dictionary that's about 100 years old. Equinox ◑ 05:38, 25 October 2015 (UTC)
