Fielding citation
[edit]I found this nice citation, but does it mean "love affair" or "lover"? Equinox ◑ 00:59, 12 December 2016 (UTC)
- 1749, Henry Fielding, The History of Tom Jones, a Foundling, volume (please specify |volume=I to VI), London: A[ndrew] Millar, […], →OCLC:
- Jones had mentioned the fact of his amour, and of his being the rival of Blifil, but had cautiously concealed the name of the young lady.
- @Equinox: "Fact" doesn't fit the meaning "lover", so "love affair", which also appears to be the older meaning, is much more likely. --Florian Blaschke (talk) 10:11, 2 April 2017 (UTC)
