How is this historical?

[edit]

The glossary defines "historical" as "Describing an object or concept which is no longer extant or current".

Last time I looked, modern telephone numbers still consisted purely of digits. — Smjg (talk) 01:13, 20 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Well I suppose this refers to the ones "introduced in the 1960s" rather than arbitrary modern ones. Change to "dated" if you must. Equinox 01:17, 20 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Equinox Hmm. On this basis, I guess it's like "talkie" – a term that was once a neologism but has since fallen out of use except when referring explicitly to a time when the thing denoted by the term was new. There ought to be a term for such terms. Meanwhile, I'm not sure how best to classify them. — Smjg (talk) 16:51, 23 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
