This was created based on a mention in the etymology of English accrue. The definition is "to increase". Not in Godefroy or TLFi under this spelling. I found a 19th century book with this quotation dated to 1256[1]: "Et as vilayns aussi de ma devant dite terre, vos ne devez ne nen poes accreistre sur eaus aucune novele droiture, ne prendre nule autre: que cele qui a este et est accostumee dou prendre sa en arrieres par les us et les costumes de la terre." We could create an Old French entry based on one use, but this doesn't look like a use that would be well translated as increase. Vox Sciurorum (talk) 17:29, 24 January 2021 (UTC)
- Cited based on a different dictionary[2] where it is a variant of accroistre. Our lemma is acroistre. If anybody finds it in Godefroy please add a reference. Volume 1 page 88 has lots of related words. I don't see the verb. Vox Sciurorum (talk) 20:50, 24 January 2021 (UTC)
