I'm hearing claims on a studio recording discussion forum that this word has only been recently coined and ought not be used. The writer claimed that absorbent was more proper. I tend to disagree, but I'm cuious about any comments or links.
- The word (deprecated template usage) absorbent typically refers to the soaking up on liquids, while absorptive can mean the soaking up of radiation or ability to withstand assault. --EncycloPetey 01:30, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
