Aborted

Abortive, “unsuccessful because cut short,” takes on the figurative sense of aborted (Note that -ive, an active suffix, here has a passive sense.) Abortive is archaic in reference to abortions of fetuses, except in the sense “causing an abortion.” --Backinstadiums (talk) 10:22, 9 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
