Is this really a word in a language? Remember guys, only uses count, not mentions. -- Pedrianaplant (talk) 12:14, 14 August 2016 (UTC)

- I can find examples in texts where "abc ... z" is used to show what a type face looks like but all the meaning is in the font rather than the text string itself. I added some of these on the citations page under a subheading. We could mention this in usage notes if we keep.
- The text string "abc ... z" is also widely used only in indices but usually with spaces between the letters and some letter may get omitted if there are no entries ... so 'Sum of Parts'.
- Even if we could find an example where the the string was a (presumably rare) synonym for alphabet, we might struggle to show it was not 'Sum of Parts'. John Cross (talk) 04:33, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
- All right. Would someone with admin rights mind deleting this and the "alternative spelling" ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ by the same token? --Hekaheka (talk) 21:11, 10 March 2017 (UTC)
