I think these two entries should be made into one. I've never considered both meanings to be two different words. "Wort" is one word with two plurals which differ in meaning. (brother has two plurals, "brothers" and "brethren", which differ in meaning, but are they two different words?) Another reason is that in colloquial German, the plural Worte is often used instead of Wörter. For example: "Sag mir drei Worte, die mit x anfangen!" (Tell me three words beginning with an x!) It's not correct in Standard German, but you'll hear that quite often.
