I think this entry should be kept as this word has entered mainstream use in a similar manner to planking. Tebowing has been used in the news since 2010 at least and has far more than three attestations over more than one year. The term has been added to at least one other dictionary as well [www.ibtimes.com/articles/267182/20111214/tebowing-dictionary-recognizes-tim-tebow-phenomenon.htm link].Lucifer 13:56, 20 December 2011 (UTC)

- This is from Wikipedia: ""Tebowing" is a neologism derived from Tebow's propensity for kneeling and praying. The origin of the phrase is credited to fan Jared Kleinstein, who posted a picture with friends on Facebook, in which they mimic a pose by Tebow that was caught on camera following the Broncos' improbable overtime victory over the Dolphins on October 23, 2011. The popularity of the picture led Kleinstein to set up a website showing pictures submitted by people depicting various interpretations of "Tebowing" all over the world. In December 2011, the life-sized wall adhesions company Fathead released a "tebowing" sticker which generated $50,000 in revenue in two days." Our spanning over the years -rule says that we need to wait 2 yrs and 10 months. --Hekaheka 17:50, 20 December 2011 (UTC)
- Where are you getting that rule? WT:CFI says "Spanning at least a year", so Tebowing would become eligible no earlier than Oct. 23, 2012. There's not a single Google Books hit, except for (ironically enough) a Holy Bible hit that says "but In tebowing 1 rr>ently f«r vœ >e pi ате^»г ..." and the like. Google Groups looks strong enough that I think we might revisit this in a year.--Prosfilaes 22:34, 20 December 2011 (UTC)
- There are citations from 2010, and it's nearly 2012, I think that meets your 34 month test too.Lucifer 22:45, 20 December 2011 (UTC)
- According to Wikipedia, there are no citations from 2010. Google Groups comes up with nothing before 2011-10-01, so I see no reason to doubt Wikipedia.--Prosfilaes 23:24, 20 December 2011 (UTC)
- Simply looking at the instances of "Tebowing" and "Tebowed" from 2010 and earlier shows that they were not used in the sense in question. They are typically something like "Heisman candidate X was Tebowed." "Quarterback Y out-Tebowed Tebow." "In fact, he promises he won't be 'Tim Tebowing' his way over defenders to prove his toughness at the risk of getting hurt." It is an extraordinarily popular term and phenomenon in the US. - We could do it the other way round: add valid citations to Citations:Tebowing, then restore it. I see no reason to restore it right now. Mglovesfun (talk) 10:20, 22 December 2011 (UTC)
