I confess I'm not entirely sure what it means for a name to be "English", but I don't think this can be described in any way as English. For example, no English-speaking country I am aware of would allow ə in a given name. This, that and the other (talk) 00:57, 7 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Yeahhh it seems unlikely. Even poor, potentially-monolingual English speakers in Canada can have French accented surnames if their French ancestors moved to outside of French-speaking areas in the far past, but this seems less likely. It's the result of diff, which split a template which used the language code en, which may have simply been an error. - -sche (discuss) 01:23, 25 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
For context: the original Azerbaijani entry was created by a Pays-de-Loire IP who was probably the "missing informations" editor notorious for adding Old English and Gothic translations for television and various awful Reconstruction and Japanese entries. Any resemblance to actual Azerbaijani is probably coincidental. The English sense was added by an Iranian editor with a strong tendency to conflate different languages and scripts. In other words, there's no reason whatsoever to give this the benefit of the doubt. Chuck Entz (talk) 03:28, 25 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Speedily deleted the English entry. — SGconlaw (talk) 03:42, 25 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
