The pronunciation with /æ/ instead of /aː/ does not seem to exist. See https://youglish.com/pronounce/Slavic/english – everybody says /ˈslɑːvɪk/, no matter whether they are from the UK, the US or anywhere else in the world. (I suspect that the /æ/ got into this article by mechanical substitution of UK /ɑ:/ with US /æ/, as in fast, bath, etc. However, Slavic is pronunced with the same vowel as father, which is also /faːðəɹ/, not */fæðəɹ/ in US English.) --Buncic (talk) 06:29, 24 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
