Etymology

I can't figure out how to put citations in here correctly, but I found these two pages: http://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/page/49587928#page/83/mode/1up and http://www.hbw.com/dictionary/definition/sirystes which say that the etymology is either a misspelling or a random vowel shift of "Gr. συριστης suristēs piper < συριζω surizō to play the pipes < συριγξ surinx, συριγγος suringos shepherd's pipe" —Lidnariq (talk) 04:08, 31 July 2017 (UTC)
