  1. To be skeptical

Real hard to search for because of the name. Chuck Entz (talk) 07:25, 12 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Yes, but if the sense exists to the extent it deserves inclusion, it is only because of the name.  --Lambiam 10:19, 12 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
It might be attestable capitalized. DCDuring (talk) 16:27, 12 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
Trying "scullying"|"scullies"|"scullied" gets rid of much chaff. DCDuring (talk) 16:29, 12 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
Not much on Books or News. Groups is more promising. DCDuring (talk) 16:39, 12 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

I have cited this, but only in upper case. It should probably be moved. While looking, I also saw some uses that looked like they meant "scuttle" or "search" or "sully" Kiwima (talk) 00:16, 13 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

I didn't see enough for other senses, except for the noun sense that I added. It is possible that noun scully is an alternative form of scull. DCDuring (talk) 01:06, 13 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
Nah, I'd say it is clearly a reference to Dana Scully from The X-Files, who is always sceptical about fellow agent Fox Mulder's theories of aliens and conspiracies. Equinox 16:53, 13 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
BTW, all three citations are a capital S Scully, so consider moving there. (And at least one is non-durable.) Equinox 17:00, 13 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
I have moved the entry to Scully. Kiwima (talk) 22:33, 13 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
