I think the cleaned up version lost something from the original submitted definition:

Q-tips, aka cotton swabs, are short thin rods typically made from cardboard or plastic with cotton bound to each end. Q-tips are sold mostly for cleaning ears, but shipped with explict instructions not to use them this way.


In Australia they're sold under the generic term Cotton Buds, we don't have any references to Q-tips here at all... I don't know if that's worth mentioning. Trolleymusic 14:18, 12 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
