Some information on the commonness of the various forms of this word:

In the DWDS, only "Obolusse" is given as the plural.

In the DWDS Kernkorpus,

• Obolus (the nominative, accusative and dative singular) is used 6 times,
• Obolen (one nominative plural) is used twice
• other forms are not used

In the DWDS ZEIT corpus,

• Obolus is used approximately 410 times (it registered 527 hits, but 100–140 were duplicate entries)
• Obolen (one nominative plural) is not used(!)
• Obolusse (another nominative plural) is used once
• other forms are not used

In Google Books' corpus,

• "ein Obolus" gets 236 hits (if you click through to the last page; not all hits show snippets)
• "zwei Obolen" gets 195 hits, "einige Obolen" gets 82, "die Obolen" 201
• "zwei Obolusse" gets 1 hit(!), "einige Obolusse" gets 1(!), "die Obolusse" 10
