Capitalized

This is the name of a cat breed, all letters should be capitalized "Norwegian Forest Cat". I tried to move it but it will not let me! WritersCramp (talk) 22:41, 22 June 2013 (UTC)

Yes it is- Google Books has mostly capitalized uses. If you look at Category:en:Domestic cats, you'll notice that this is the only named breed with any part other than "cat" in lower case. If you think about it, lower case would imply that this is SOP: a "forest cat" from Norway. Instead, it's like the Maine Coon, which has coon capitalized because that's part of the name of the breed. The only remaining question is whether "cat" should be capitalized (or even included). We seem to be inconsistent about this- we even have separate entries for Manx and Manx cat, and California Spangled Cat with "Cat" capitalized. The "cat" part would seem to be redundant, but at least one of the breed standards linked to on the Wikipedia page seems to treat it as part of the name (at least one other doesn't). Wikipedia seems to leave "Cat" out of their entry titles for named breeds (except w:Siamese cat, for some reasion). I'm not really sure whether to move this to Norwegian Forest or Norwegian Forest Cat- maybe we should take this to WT:RFM (there's also the issue of how this was copypasted to the current name rather than moved).
