There is a plural (deprecated template usage) McCarthyisms, but not sure how to add that for a proper noun. Equinox 20:03, 23 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

I suspect (but can't say for certain without seeing quotations) that what you've located is a plural for a common noun sense currently lacking from our entry. The entry should be a common noun anyway, but has no plural for the ideology. The plural would pertain to a particular instance of such social pressure, rather than to pressure as a way of thinking. Abstract nouns are a bit weird like that. Consider liberty as an ideology with no plural versus liberty/liberties as specific manifestations of that ideology. --EncycloPetey 20:07, 23 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
OK, I've now split the (historical) proper noun sense from the more general common noun sense. --EncycloPetey 20:11, 23 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
