Need an index for all words

I want to just paw through all words starting with "iso" and I can't find such a list (I may be reduced to using my giant but old paper dictionary  ;-) ). If there isn't a list then it seems to me that it would be a useful feature. Sorry if this isn't the right place for the question, but shouldn't such a list be on the main page anyway? IrlSmith (talk) 21:45, 26 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

@IrlSmith: Use Category:English_lemmas and click a letter. Equinox 21:56, 26 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
(ec) If you need English words, try Category:English lemmas. Here are the words starting with "iso". — surjection??21:57, 26 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
You can also search by prefix category membership: Category:English words prefixed with iso-. This avoids getting non-prefixed ones like the name Isobel. However, some words may not have been added to the correct category yet. Equinox 22:01, 26 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

About listing German Wiktionary

The German Wiktionary has recently surpassed the 1,000,000 entry boundary — so, does this mean that it should be listed as such, or are we perhaps waiting to ensure it doesn't return to below 1 million for some reason?

At any rate, I just wanted to notify anyone who has edit permissions to update it if possible, and if it's in order. Thanks — Kiril kovachev (talk) 20:03, 24 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Amharic Wiktionary: Admins, Templates, Counter

  1. I think there's a problem with the counter on the amharic version of wiktionary because I've created about 20 pages (of contents) since November 2 and I've never seen it change the number of total pages. It's a little bit frustrating.
  2. Is there any admin there? I ask this because I don't know where to submit some requests (E.G for bot account or to import xml from other wikt)
  3. Last but not least: is it possible to import or create (if yes how) Translation templates like trans-top? Abreham97 (talk) 03:16, 11 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Abreham97 I've heard if the page doesn't contain links, then it won't be counted. Could this be the problem?

Most requests should be brought up for discussion in the Wiktionary:Beer parlour. I don't personally know the answers. You can specifically read the Wiktionary:Bots policy first. DAVilla 09:52, 27 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Capitalisation

Could someone change "Suomi" to "suomi" to reflect the Finnish ortography? brittletheories (talk) 20:42, 3 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

brittletheories also left this comment on my talk page:

<quote> Hi, the front page currently lists all wiktionary projects in the format [autonym] ([English word]), even when the foreign names are in another script. However, there's a number of mistakes following the same pattern: Finnish has "Suomi", the Finnish word for Finland, instead of "suomi", the language. Swedish, French and Russian make the same mistake, as probably do a number of other ones. While I can see an argument made for intra-Latin consistency, Russian remains surprising.

It seems Greek and Armenian make the same mistake while Georgian doesn't. ... </quote>

Case sensitive notice

Please, You add the notice about the title are case sensitive. On Wikipedies (as enwiki, dewiki and more) don't are the title case sensitive. The definite article c?

I am learning Dutch. When browsing wiktionary, for example pad#Dutch, the definite article has several letters. There are m/f/n/c. I know m stands for masculine, f feminine, n neuter. I saw it somewhere that c stands for common article, but it seems the page maybe deleted or something. Am I correct? And is the common article c "de" or "het"? -- MxLieberm (talk) 11:18, 11 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
