Typography

In the New International version, it is LORD. How do we mention this, if at all? Mglovesfun (talk) 16:53, 11 February 2011 (UTC)

I think this merits an entry to whatever extent Lord and God merit entries. It could be analysed as a mere capitalization of "Lord", which is in turn a capitalization of "lord", but the fact that (as the usage notes discuss) "LORD" and "Lord" and "lord" are used contrastively in so many well-known works is probably what made whoever added it think it was worthy of inclusion. (In contrast, something like "The" isn't semantically contrastive with "the".) But I could see an argument for deleting "LORD" and "Lord" (and "God"), and moving their contents to "lord" (and "god", respectively). - -sche (discuss) 19:54, 11 June 2014 (UTC)

Well, God refers to a specific entity while god doesn't; it's like earth versus Earth. Going to ALL CAPS doesn't seem to add any further distinction. (I suppose your comment addresses this...? I must not be familiar with those works.) Equinox ◑ 19:57, 11 June 2014 (UTC)

LORD

The Usage notes section may need to be cleaned up. It is very hard to read what it says; I can't bother to fix it as I'm worried of breaking the content. Surely someone would be there to fix it, thanks. TatCoolBoy (talk) 04:55, 7 May 2017 (UTC)
