Obi in Ibo [Nigerian] means heart ,to take heart,to be strong,courageous,kind,generous, a generator and vibrant force not to be undermined or ignored,the spirit or driving force within mankind . — This comment was unsigned.

Igwe is a Nigerian English word. It is originally Igbo language, but there is no translation. Instead the word "igwe" is used. I think the meaning is a little similar to "maharaja". You hear it in Nigerian movies a lot. As far as I know, it means a hereditary Igbo leader (Igbos are one of the tribes that live in southern Nigeria). Maybe someone else can offer a better translation. As I said, it's a common word in Nigeria. Please note that English is the official language in that country. I would say it's safe to include the word in Wiktionary. Tritonist
