Should such entries be included? Many dictionaries do inlucde very brief entries on historic figures. — Hippietrail 03:45, 30 Aug 2004 (UTC)

The only reason dictionaries include them is because they don't have an encylopedia to redirect to. Remove them all, it's just repeated material; as you can't list anything but a definition. And most names can be written about 3 ways (w:Abraham Lincoln, w:Abe Lincoln, w:Abraham (middle name) Lincoln, ...) --Blade Hirato 04:07, 30 Aug 2004 (UTC)

There's an argument to be made for something like Benedict Arnold, which has been turned into a epithet synonymous with traitor in American English. ("Those Benedict Arnolds turned us in!" etc.) However I haven't heard "Abraham Lincoln" used a generic term ever. Tagging with rfv. -Anþony 09:48, 5 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
