It is Italian not English--Nikolas (talk) 03:07, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
- To be honest, where do you draw the line? Both use the Latin Script. You could argue that the English name's derived from Italian. Jamesjiao → T ◊ C 03:14, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
- All surnames ending with double l and ending with a vowel are Italian for sure. I can search relevant italian websites and offline references, if that can be useful. Cheers.--Nikolas (talk) 23:31, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
- Nobody's disputing an Italian origin, but words can be borrowed — e.g. tagliatelle follows your spelling rule, and is Italian, but has been adopted into English. I'm not convinced that this surname is hugely common outside Italy, though, from googling. Equinox ◑ 23:39, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
