Gontar is not predominantly a Galician geographical name. Mainly, Gontar is an Ukrainian surname, which is why there are in total thousands of people named Gontar in Ukraine, Russia and Poland. For example, the Russian footballer Nikolai Gontar, the Russian gymnast Olga Gontar, and Ukrainian Jewish poet Abraham Gontar (1908-1981).
Tokar and Gontar are both surnames
[edit]The surname "Tokar" is in Wiktionary, and indicated to be a surname in the Wikionary entry. So why is "Gontar" not in Wiktionary as a surname? This is inconsistent.Cdg1072 (talk) 21:27, 5 June 2023 (UTC)
