Google says: Results 1 - 100 of about 30,700 over the past 3 months for GIGO +garbage +in +out. (0.82 seconds) so perhaps this should not be listed as either dated or no longer in use? Or is more research needed? --Connel MacKenzie 18:42, 20 May 2005 (UTC)Reply

I see no reason to refer to it as dated, I have had college professors use the term in CS courses. - TheDaveRoss
No, it is not really dated. However, us computer professionals (retired) would say that garbage input is not a problem if (1) you vet it properly, and (2) you test your program with every sort of garbage you can think of. SemperBlotto 19:17, 20 May 2005 (UTC)Reply
