Etymology 3; senses:

1. (Internet slang) Used to profess respect for a deceased person, or for something that has been lost.
2. (Internet slang, by extension, often sarcastic) Used to express regret or disappointment about an unfortunate event or piece of information.

There is only one quotation, which is for sense 1 and not durably archived. There was another for sense 2 but I moved it, as press F to pay respects was used, not F alone. J3133 (talk) 22:20, 24 May 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing this out. F as an interjection was removed because it failed RFV (see above and this diff). That entry at f was forgotten in the process. Fytcha (talk) 01:03, 23 December 2021 (UTC)
