Well, these translations were wrong to begin with. I've adapted them now. Hauen doesn't mean "cut", but rather "hew, beat, hit" and thus also "break, quarry". Eisen means "iron". Of course it can also refer to any iron object, but it doesn't mean "pick" specifically. At face value, Eisenhauer is "iron hewer", "iron hitter" or "iron breaker". It would thus seem to refer to a worker in an iron mine. I've not added a gloss, however, because the interpretation is not certain to me. It could also have meant so much as "smith" or whatever. 90.186.72.39 12:32, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
