Could this be a nisba form of دُرَّاج (durrāj, francolin)? Some other Arabic surnames are based on birds, like Sununu. If this theory is wrong, the main alternative would be a connection to the verbal root د ر ج (d-r-j), I suppose. 70.172.194.25 04:23, 9 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
