Adjectival Form
[edit]The dictionary currently says, "Democrat (not comparable) (US politics, proscribed, derogatory, offensive) Of or belonging to the Democratic Party in the United States." (Emphasis added.) So, which is it? Democrat or Democratic?
- Usually you'd say Democratic. There's a discussion about this on Wikipedia too, which gives more details as to *why* it is the way it is, but our usage note here summarizes it well. I think the only thing I'd add is that it can be an adverb too, as in the set phrase vote Democrat. —Soap— 10:53, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
