I think that the Persian language could be the origin of Dana.
Note: I use "aa" to present the sound of "u" in the "sun".
"دانستن"( Daanestan) is a verb in the Persian language. It means "to know". "دانا" (Daanaa) is the adjective derived from this verb to describe a person who knows. Thus in English "دانا" (Daanaa) should be translated to "wise".
I also know that "دانا" exists in the Arabic language. But I do not know if this word can be derived from an Arabic root. Is there any expert in the Arabic language?
