  • Maybe there is also "Dötzeken" (google books has a few examples, but maybe not attestable for en.wt)
  • If one just uses "real" google book quotes, than it's not obvious whether Dötzchen means child [just] starting school or little child. The following mentions say that it is the letter:
    • de.wp (not a serious source) states: "Ein kleines Kind wird [...] als Dotz oder Dötzken (Dötzchen) bezeichnet. Die Erstklässler werden i-Dötzchen genannt"
    • Du Stadt im grünen Grund by Manfred Knierim: "wie südhessisch Dötzchen im Ruhrgebiet Dötzken, kleines Kind, Knirps"
