Talk:Cottonian
Add topichttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vocabularium_Cornicum yes it can be confirmed--Judeobasquelanguage (talk) 00:01, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Judeobasquelanguage No it can't. Cottonian in that case refers to the manuscript, not the language. It resides in the Cottonian library, and is often referred to as "MS Cotton Vespasian A. xiv". That refers to its being the 14th book on shelf A in the bookcase with the bust of the emperor Vespasian in front of it. The reason it's called the Cottonian Vocabulary is to distinguish it from other vocabularies that might be part of other collections. Chuck Entz (talk) 00:32, 30 October 2021 (UTC)

Rfv-sense "(obsolete) The Cornish language." I think this is a misconstruction; there is a "Cottonian Vocabulary" (Vocabularium Cornicum). — surjection ⟨??⟩ 22:47, 21 October 2021 (UTC)
