Just an observation: the cited 1982 book is called Magician and the character is in a cloak (perhaps some magical character?) and so carline, meaning "witch", may well be an influence. Are we sure this character's name is based on Caroline? Equinox ◑ 22:42, 20 October 2018 (UTC)
