Like Arms above, it's just brethren capitalized as part of a title or a proper noun. Mglovesfun (talk) 15:52, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
- I think it has its own special meaning; it's an abbreviation for the w:Church of the Brethren, just as Friend(s) is used for the Society of Friends (commonly called Quakers).--达伟 17:16, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

- Keep, as this is semantically distinct. Having grown up in the CotB, I'm confident that one would never refer to, e.g., a "brethren minister" (and b.g.c. seems to bear this out). Apart from that, the definitions seem correct, but unhelpfully broad. On the one hand, "Brethren" when used to denote the Hutterite or Mennonite Brethren (if uses these even meet CFI) will have different synonymy, usage properties, etc. from when it is used to refer to the CotB. On the other hand, I am skeptical that offshoots like the Grace Brethren and Old Order Brethren use "Brethren" to refer specifically to themselves, particularly since their congregations tend to be located in fairly close proximity to mainline Brethren congregations. It seems more likely that they would use it to refer either to the mainline church, or to the "Schwarzenau Brethren" churches collectively. (And based on b.g.c., I'm also a bit skeptical that unrelated groups like the River Brethren use "Brethren" this way; it's likely that they do, but I'd like to see verification.) -- Visviva 16:33, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
- Well I'm only nominating the current definitions for deletion; not ones we ay have in the future. --Mglovesfun (talk) 16:39, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
