Just a hospital compound really? Denazz (talk) 17:45, 11 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Denazz It looks to be a hospital compound but (despite I completely disagreeing with this rule) it does indeed appear to satisfy our basic criteria for the inclusion of place-names, which says that eligible are "districts and neighborhoods of cities and towns". For one reason or another, this hospital compound (perhaps big or important enough) was designated as a barangay, which Wikt says is "the smallest local government unit in the Philippines, a subdivision of a city or municipality". Thus, it is a locality, and apparently has a population of about 600 (???) per their 1990 census. I mean, even if it had no residents at all, it would still be eligible to have an entry (and, indeed, we have at least hundreds of ghost towns). So it, and the Santo Tomas School Area, Saint Louis University SVP Housing Village etc. are all eligible in theory. That said, a brief Google search reveals only geographic databases, gazetteers and census data that mention this place, hence it would not satisfy our criteria for attestments (independent usage). Thus, send to RfV where I presume it will inevitably fail. Incidentally, I noticed that the Saint Louis Uni Housing Village entry thingy is already there too, and This, that and the other seems to have some more info on these entries.
