I placed the 'Variants and pet forms' section, because it is in my humble opion interesting reading the variants and pet forms of given names. Please do not remove this section.( This was written by User:Alasdair)
- Variants and pet forms are interesting, but they must not be in the translations section. It's like adding "kitten, pussy, Siamese" when somebody asks you to translate "cat".
- To add variants, first make an entry in the language in question, and add the variants there under the header "Related terms" or "Derived terms", link them, and preferably make a new entry for each variant. I copied your variants for German Aaron. Th rest are preserved in the page history.--Makaokalani 12:25, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Etymology
[edit]No certain Hebrew etymology, see [1] and [2] Dougweller 12:33, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
- Well, your guess is also speculation, so I've added it to the old speculations. Please don't remove information, particularly not the Hebrew part - English Aaron certainly derives from the Hebrew name, regardless of its meaning.--Makaokalani 12:46, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
Pronunciation
[edit]There isn't an entry on the British pronunciation (air-on), which is quite common alongside the American version. RatzaChewy 13:23, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
