@Bhagadatta Yes, dh. in CDIAL = Dhauli. The Sanchi pillar and the Delhi-Topra pillar have

putā-papotike

in which the second element is 𑀧𑁄𑀢𑀓 (potaka) and the overall meaning is 'sons and grandsons'.

According to {{R:inc:CGMIA|192}} puta-papotika can considered as an adverbial compound. (The compounds 𑀤𑁂𑀯𑀸𑀦𑀸𑀁𑀧𑁆𑀭𑀺𑀬 (devānāṃpriya) and 𑀥𑀁𑀫𑀮𑀺𑀧𑀺 (dhaṃmalipi) have separate entries.) @Kutchkutch: Thanks! I was not sure because {{R:CDIAL|kártavya|2859}} has Dhauli abbreviated as dhau.. I think the attestation that you mention make a strong enough case for including the lemma-form (puta /putta/) for these regional lects (/puttā/ the plural was inherited from OIA putrā́ḥ). {{R:inc:CGMIA|54}} labels Ashokan /putta/ as "T"; I believe it stands for Delhi-Topra so it just makes the case for including these lects. -- 𝓑𝓱𝓪𝓰𝓪𝓭𝓪𝓽𝓽𝓪^{(𝓽𝓪𝓵𝓴)} 12:26, 27 February 2021 (UTC)
