Some sources (e.g. [1]) cite Chinese gu-zhi 谷紙 ("paper made from mulberry bark") as the origin of this word, but there does not seem to be such a word (in dictionaries, classical text corpora). See 紙. Wyang (talk) 05:22, 10 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
