Ethnic adjective

[edit]

Is this also used as an ethnic adjective for a male Phoenician? Damate 19:27, 5 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

I don't know, but 𐀑𐀛𐀑𐀍 (ponikijo) sounds a lot like "Phoenicia". Apparently "Phoenicia" is derived from Mycenaean Greek po-ni-ki-jo. Isn't that this word? Ο€r2 (talkΒ β€’ changes) 17:35, 20 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
I agree, it does sound like it. However, I haven't found any evidence from the scholars: http://minoan.deaditerranean.com/resources/linear-b-sign-groups/po/po-ni-ki-jo/. Damate (talk) 18:38, 20 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
