Connel, you added an rfd tag to this entry, but never explained why. -- A-cai 13:27, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
- I think he just meant the last two language sections needed to be deleted; and he was right. I speak fluent Dictionary Information and near-fluent Technical Information, and can say with some confidence that 鶟 isn't a word in either one. ;-)
- Since those two sections have since been removed, I'm taking the liberty of removing the tag. (Connel, please feel free to revert if I've misinterpreted.)
- No, I had added the tags wondering which one was best; there wasn't any discernable content that I could see. It looks fine now though. I never thought of RFD as my personal talk page, before! :-) --Connel MacKenzie 22:56, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
This is a problem that we run into with these Nanshubot entries. Some of them do not contain a definition. Robert's bot slaps a defn template which places it into the Category:Mandarin definitions needed category. In theory, knowledgable contributors are supposed go to that category and then add definitions. I must admit that in my case, I work on entries in there only very sporadically. -- A-cai 02:28, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
- The definitions needed cats for the Han character entries are more to keep track of them than as some kind of to-do lists (unless someone wants to take on the task of providing the missing 19,000+ Mandarin definitions? ;-) Some have "common meanings", a very large number don't.
- In this case, the problem was that those two L2 sections escaped the AWB formatting pass (it was very, very picky, if I were to do it again, I would use Python code and would have formatted them all on one pass, instead of constantly hunting format exceptions.) User:Robert Ullmann/Han/Problems lists all of the remaining (auto-detectable) problems. It identifies entries like 䶨, which is a good candidate for deletion; it contains no information at all.
