Japanese-only
[edit]This looks Japanese-only, hence I’ve:
- Categorized it under Category:Japanese-only CJKV Characters
- Deleted the Korean and Mandarin sections (obviously one can just read the phonetic to get a reading)
- (Deleted in this edit.)

If this character is used outside of Japan, please revert that edit / restore the content, and fix the category (and please include citations of use!).

- Apparently is used in Chinese, and etymology somewhat complicated.
- Please see discussion at Wiktionary:Etymology scriptorium: 鮟 (and earlier WT:RFV: 鮟 -- character etymology) – character used in Chinese (and presumably Korean) as import from Japanese, hence Mandarin (and Korean) section restored. Also originally present in Chinese in a different sense (as corruption of 鰋, a kind of catfish), hence found in Kangxi and not considered a Japanese kokuji. Corrected/revised as of this edit.
