What is the phonological process that lead to the transformation of 'kaho' -> 'kaha' in compounding? Like the apophony in other native nouns? Wyang (talk) 23:13, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
- @Wyang: Sorry, just saw your note last night. I've done a bit more research and added a note to the etymology. In short, this appears to be more a one-off case of the phonological shape of the latter hayushi element affecting the final vowel in kaho; I can find no evidence for OJP 顔 (kaho) having any apophonic forms. ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 18:04, 22 September 2016 (UTC)
