"Inferences"

[edit]

@RcAlex36 Hi! I see that you just assume that I infer pronunciations every time. Could you please ask me first? --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 10:13, 3 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Mar vin kaiser What were the sources then? RcAlex36 (talk) 10:33, 3 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
@RcAlex36: In the future though, it would be more courteous if you asked the editor first before removing something. By the way. --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 10:35, 3 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
@RcAlex36: Looking at my history, I probably got them from the Wikipedia page Min River, which has Min Nan and Min Bei pronunciations. Someone edited it in around 2019. The Min Nan pronunciation actually exists as its own Ban-lam-gu Wikipedia article. The Min Bei pronunciation I can't find anywhere else. --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 10:36, 3 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Mar vin kaiser Min Nan wikipedia is not a reliable source, and you were inferring for Min Bei. You should not have added both pronunciations. I notice that you have a tendency to infer pronunciations for toponyms, and almost all if not all of the Min Bei pronunciations of toponyms that you have added were inferred. This one was no exception. Could you please stop? RcAlex36 (talk) 10:39, 3 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
@RcAlex36: Firstly, I already stopped doing it around last year, talking to Justinrleung. I don't do it anymore, in case you noticed. Secondly, this edit isn't my inference, it's someone's edit that I copied. I didn't infer it myself. I just didn't verify it further that it was someone's inference when I added it in. Thirdly, I'd appreciate it if you would ask me nicely, because your questions are really passive-aggressive. You may not intend to, but that's how it sounds. I mean, we both want the same thing anyway, that only accurate stuff would be found in Wiktionary, so if you doubt some of my edits, ask me please. I always reply since I try to respect my fellow editors. I hope you understand that I made that edit with no ill will, so I'd appreciate it if you were nicer to me. Thanks. --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 10:45, 3 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Mar vin kaiser: Why did you put the two pronunciations back? RcAlex36 (talk) 10:47, 3 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
@RcAlex36: That was before we had this conversation. Partially out of irritation that you didn't ask me first. Sorry about that. If you think the pronunciations found in Wikipedia aren't trustworthy, feel free to revert back. By the way, is it possible that Bân-kang isn't in a Taiwanese source somewhere? I'm gonna check. --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 10:52, 3 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
@RcAlex36: There you go. I found both Bân-kang / Bîn-kang in 普通話閩南話詞典. --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 10:57, 3 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Mar vin kaiser: Great, thanks for providing a source. RcAlex36 (talk) 11:00, 3 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Mar vin kaiser: I can't seem to find a book with the name 普通話閩南話詞典. What was the name of the source again? RcAlex36 (talk) 17:41, 23 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Ok it should instead be 普通話閩南方言詞典. RcAlex36 (talk) 17:52, 23 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
