Is the etymology correct?

[edit]

Currently it says "Literally "without (any) space (left)"." I would have thought it means "without any time interval", the same as ma in "間に合う". This seems to match other uses of the kanji too, as in "あいだ", "時間", and it seems to make the expression make more sense ("without any time interval" -> "soon"). I say this with no knowledge of the etymology of 間, it just seems to make more sense. Ianhasausername (talk) 16:12, 21 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
