Common usage. In Chinese it is customary to use a person to refer to an occupation. E.g. 會計 can be both "accountant" and "accounting". See also hits on Baidu for "学锁匠". ---> Tooironic (talk) 07:48, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

Then I would argue that 护士 can also mean 护理. This is not a systematic feature of Chinese grammar. For example, one does not say 学老师 to mean 学教育, or 学医生 to mean 学医学. We have to look at each case individually ---> Tooironic (talk) 05:24, 28 January 2018 (UTC)
