Taishanese pronunciation

[edit]

@Mar vin kaiser Hi, may I know where you got the Taishanese pronunciation from in this edit? Stephen Li has an32 ga335 instead. RcAlex36 (talk) 15:57, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

@RcAlex36: I'm currently looking at Stephen Li's dictionary and it says "aŋ32 ga335", not "an32 ga335". And the Wiktionary romanization "ang5 ga1*" corresponds to what's written in Stephen Li, namely "aŋ32 ga335". It's /ŋ/ consonant final for the first syllable. --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 16:04, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Mar vin kaiser: By Stephen Li I meant [1] which does have an32 ga335 in the transcription as well as in the recording for 疍家. RcAlex36 (talk) 16:07, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Interesting. Both 疍家 and 蜑家 exist and different readings are given. RcAlex36 (talk) 16:09, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
@RcAlex36: This is quite interesting. I opened the website in two places. One in a normal browser, and the other in an incognito mode. In the normal browser, it shows "an32 ga335" with the audio corresponding to it. In the incognito mode, it shows "aŋ32 ga335" with the audio corresponding to it. I could send you the screenshots if I could, through e-mail or social media. But it's quite a weird quirk in the website. --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 16:10, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
