@Suzukaze-c: lol I think the hokkien POJ pronunciation (bú-lah-kan/bú-lo̍h-kan) of it could still match how an elderly fil-chi person would pronounce it. Filipino or english place names here are usually just pronounced by hokkien speakers as how they'd go about pronouncing it when they talk in filipino or english. I'm not sure if those are the official characters, but when people do for some reason decide to post those characters up for some chinese event, then they'd probably use those characters to approximate the pronunciation. For certain schools or usually chinese schools at least, the characters are officially set since they post those up in official logos. For cities and places, I think only if the place has had a historically established chinese community or neighborhood before, otherwise hokkien speakers just improvise or codeswitch or just speak in another language.--Mlgc1998 (talk) 19:27, 9 November 2019 (UTC)
