Hokkien Pronunciation

[edit]

@QuestionableAnswers I was wondering, why did you put "he̍rt" under "literary"? Mar vin kaiser (talk) 04:24, 11 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

The homophone lists in county annals (for 惠安 and 南安) mark he̍rt as literary, and ha̍t (牽核) as vernacular. 永春方言志 has vernacular ha̍t, vernacular hu̍t (“又音,一~(一粒)”), and unmarked he̍rt. None of them has he̍k/hia̍k as far as I can see.
hu̍t was already labeled as vernacular so I didn't touch it, but he̍rt/hu̍t looks like 俗 variant which functions as literary. I think the entry needs reworking in the future, and some senses of hu̍t should probably go under separate Etymology. QuestionableAnswers (talk) 01:26, 19 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
