Is 許多 an alternative form?

My dictionary shows 許多 as an alternative, but I am not able to find any other online dictionaries that has the same information. Maybe it's so fallen out of use that it is no longer an alternative. Or maybe I just didn't look deep enough on the web. Onionbar (talk) 15:50, 9 June 2020 (UTC)

https://www.weblio.jp/content/あまた lists 許多 as an alternative spelling, but only for the あまた reading, if you have time and add the info on it would be great. Also it can be read as すうた and すた apparently. Shen233 (talk) 21:02, 11 June 2020 (UTC)

Also notice 許多 itself can be read as きょた, also this reading can be also spelled as 巨多. As a native Chinese speaker this is very interesting. Shen233 (talk) 21:31, 11 June 2020 (UTC)

Thank you so much! Not sure how I missed Weblio when I was looking around for other sources. I'll be adding it to the alternative form. I am not sure about how to add the alternative reading though. You're right, as a Chinese speaker as well, this is very interesting. By the way, how does one know when a new discussion page is made? I'm curious about how you are able to find pages I've made. I sometimes search people’s contribution when I’m bored. You can add an alternative reading by adding separate etymologies, like this one 幾何. Shen233 (talk) 21:56, 11 June 2020 (UTC)
