@Geographyinitiative, another place-name needing an entry. As always, let me know if you don't wish to be pinged. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 02:16, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
- @Metaknowledge I enjoy doing these kinds of things. The answer is definitely related to Baotianman National Nature Reserve ("A new sauropod dinosaur Baotianmansaurus henanensis gen. et sp. nov. from the Cretaceous Gaogou Formation of Neixiang, Henan Province is erected."[1]) though I haven't pinned down exactly why the scientists named it for Baotianman. The nature reserve (established in 1988) may have been named after a mountain ([2]). The scientists may have named the dinosaur (2009) for the nature reserve. --Geographyinitiative (talk) 19:51, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
- If I could open that 2009 article, a more specific answer could be given. --Geographyinitiative (talk) 20:04, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
- @Geographyinitiative: The paper states that the dinosaur is named for the reserve, as I put in the etymology section of the Translingual entry. Should the name of the mountain be in this entry as well. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 20:30, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
